SMS Messaging Program
RecallsSafe · operated by Raha Services, Inc. · How we send text messages, and how to stop them.
1. The program
This program sends you two kinds of text message from RecallsSafe:
- Recall alerts. A one-time message when an official government agency — such as the FDA, CPSC, USDA, EPA or a state health department — issues a recall for a product you registered in your RecallsSafe inventory. We do not send these for every recall we know about, only for a product you specifically registered.
- Account verification codes. A one-time code when you create an account or verify a phone number, so we can confirm the number belongs to you.
Message frequency varies. There is no schedule. Recall alerts are event-driven and depend entirely on whether a registered product is recalled; verification codes are sent once per action you take.
Message and data rates may apply for each message you receive.
2. How you opt in
You opt in by ticking an unchecked consent box when you create a RecallsSafe account. The box is never pre-selected.You can create an account without ticking the box — if you decline, you still create an account and receive verification by email only. If you tick the box, you receive both email and SMS verification codes.
The checkbox appears on all three of our account-creation surfaces:
- the website, at recallssafe.com/signup;
- the RecallsSafe app for iPhone and iPad (the App Store);
- the RecallsSafe app for Android (Google Play).
The wording of the box is identical in all three places, and it is this sentence:
The control above is a reproduction of the sign-up checkbox, shown unticked. It is not a live control — to opt in, create an account and tick the box there.
We record your consent. When you tick the box, RecallsSafe stores the date and time, the version of the wording you agreed to, and technical details of the request — the platform you signed up from, a truncated copy of your phone number’s originating network, and your browser or device identifier. This exists so that we can prove to you, to a mobile carrier, or to a regulator that a specific person was shown a specific sentence and agreed to it. See our Privacy Policy for what we collect and how long we keep it.
We do not sell or share your opt-in. Your mobile number and your SMS opt-in data are not sold or shared with third parties for marketing purposes. See section 1.4 of the Privacy Policy.

3. How to opt out
Reply STOP to any message from us and you will stop receiving text messages from RecallsSafe. Standard messaging rates may apply to the reply.
You can also turn SMS alerts off yourself at any time in Account Settings → Alert Channels, without replying to anything. Turning SMS alerts off there stops recall alerts; to also stop account verification texts, contact us and ask us to remove your number from the program.
Note that opting out stops all messages from this program, including verification codes. If you later need a code to verify a new number, contact support and we will send it another way.
4. How to get help
Reply HELP to any message from us and you will receive information about the program and how to reach us.
You can also email us directly at support@recallssafe.com, or use the contact form at recallssafe.com/contact. For privacy questions, data requests or to delete your data, write to privacy@recallssafe.com.
5. Message and data rates
Message and data rates may apply for every message sent or received through this program, charged by your mobile carrier and not by RecallsSafe. Your carrier may delay or filter messages from short codes. Message frequency varies, as described in section 1.
Carriers are not liable for delays or failures in the delivery of any message sent through this program.
